  • Day 1: Jakarta - Paro - Thimphu (L/D)
    The flight into the Himalayas reveals breathtaking view of the World highest peaks, taking you right into the Dragon kingdom cloud scraping air strips at the lush green valley of Paro (alt.7000ft). You will be receive dat the exit gate by our representative and then drive for lunch in the Paro Town. After an early lunch visit the national museum (Ta-dzong). Once it was the watch tower of Paro valley from 1616 A.D to 1907 and it was converted into the National Museum in 1968. The museum stands on a promontory over looking the Paro valley. Also visit the Paro Rinpung dzong (fortress of the heap of Jewels) which is the seat of the district administration as well as the home for the monastic school. The central tower (utse) of the dzong, with its superb wood work, is one of the most beautiful in the country. Then the dzong was built in 1645 A.D by Sheb drung Nawang Namgyel. Then walk through the Nemi Zam (Traditional covered bridge). Thimphu the capital city of Bhutan, passing through idyllic countryside, with villages and paddy fields on either side of the road. Thimphu has a special charm and it is fascinating to sit and watch a gathering of local people in the town square, wearing their traditional dress and going about their business in a typically un hurried Bhutanese way. Thimphu is the largest and only real “city” in Bhutan. Thoughit is bustling, it remains the world’s only capital city without a traffic light! It’s also an excellent place to learn about the country’s arts and crafts. Evening at leisure in the Thimphu town for orientation with the place and the people. Overnight at the Hotel base in Thimphu.
    Day 2: Thimphu (B/L/D)
    After breakfast visit Bhutan National Bank for currency exchange and then you can get an opportunity to purchase exquisite collector Bhutanese stamps. Also visit Buddha Dordenma site, It is a gigantic Shakyamuni Buddha statue which is sited amidst the ruins of Kuensel Phodrang, the palace of Sherab Wangchuck, the 13th Druk Desi, over looking the southern approach to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. A visit to the market provides great photo opportunities, as well as the chanceto mingle with local people and perhaps buy souvenirs. Visit to the School of Traditional Arts and Crafts, the school offers a six-year course in the techniques of traditional art in religious and secular paintings, wood carving, clay sculpture and traditional mask making. One can see students working through progressive levels practicing precise rules of Bhutanese art. The school also has a showroom from where student works are sold at very reasonable price compared to town for same quality of work. Visit the National Memorial Chorten; the building of this landmark was originally envisaged by Bhutan’sthird king. You may also be able to catch a game of archery in progressat the Changlimethang sports ground, just below the town. Visit Tashichhodzong. In the evening talk on Gross National Happiness and Bhutan History. Overnight at the same hotel.
    Day 3: Punakha - Wangdue Phodrang (B/L/D)
    After early breakfast, proceed to Punakha a cross Dochu La pass (3,088m/10,130ft) the highest point on the road is marked by a large Bhutanese Chorten and prayer flags fluttering on the hill. On a clear day, there is a breathtaking view over the high peaks of the eastern Himalayas from this spot. Visit Punakha Dzong, which is also know as Pungtang Dechen Photrang Dzong was constructed by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1637-38. It is the winter home of Bhutan's Central Monastic Body ledby HH the Je Khenpo. The Dzong houses the most sacred relics of the Southern Drukpa Kagyu School including the Rangjung Kasarpani, and the sacred remains of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal and Terton Padma Lingpa. Punakha was the capital of Bhutan and the seat of government until 1955,when the capital was moved to Thimphu. It is located at an elevation of 1,200 metres above sea level and rice is grown as the main crop along the river valleys of two main rivers of Bhutan, the Pho Chu and Mo Chu. In 1907, Punakha Dzong was the site of the coronation of Ugyen Wangchuck (or Deb Nagpo) as the first King of Bhutan. Three years later, atreaty was signed at Punankha where by the British agreed not to interfere in Bhutanese internal affairs and Bhutan allowed Britain to direct its foreign affairs. Then drive to Wangduephodrang for overnight in hotel / resort.
    Day 4: Wangdue Phodrang - Paro (B/L/D)
    In the morning, short hike to Chimey Lhakhang the fertility temple of Lama Drukpa Kuenley the Divine Madman. Then drive to Paro, the road begins a long climb back up to the Dochu La, where a stunning field of white chortens and colorful prayer flags send blessings up to the Himalayan sky; snow peaks line the horizon. Check in hotel, relax and refresh. In the afternoon, Bhutanese Culture day , we will offer you Bhutanese culture show like mask dance, folk songs, Archery match and other Bhutanese game for the group. Overnight - Hotel Resort base in Paro.
    Day 5: Paro - Jakarta (B)
    After breakfast in the hotel, drive to the airport in time to catch up your on ward flight. Your escort from Discovery Bhutan will bid you farewell and soon the remote and legendary Dragon Kingdom disappears again behind its guardian mountains.

  • Day 1: Arrival - Paro (L)
    On arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be received by our representative and escorted you to hotel. After an early lunch visit the National Museum (Ta-dzong).     Day 2: Paro - Taktsang - Thimphu (B)
    Right after the breakfast drive towards the road point to Taktsang. Taktsang Monastery, the most famous of Bhutan's monasteries. Taktsang means "Tiger's Nest", so named because Guru Rimpoche reportedly flew to the site of the monastery on the back of a flying tiger in the late centuries of the first millennium. The monastery is perched on a cliff nearly 3,000 ft above the Paro valley floor. This day hike is not only historically and culturally interesting, but also incredibly scenic. It takes about two hours to reach the cafeteria, which gives a breathtaking view of the Tiger's Nest. If you still feel like hiking then you can take another hour to reach the temple. Then return back and drive to Thimphu (about 2 hours drive). Overnight - hotel base in Thimphu.
    Day 3: Thimphu - Punakha - Wangdue (B/L)
    After breakfast, go to Bhutan National Bank for currency exchange and then you can get an opportunity to purchase exquisite collector Bhutanese stamps. Then drive to Punakha (The ancient capital of Bhutan) is 3 hours drive from Thimphu a cross Dochu-La Pass (Alt.11,400 ft) snow-capped eastern Himalayan ranges can be seen on a clear day. Prayer flags will flutter you over the pass deeper into the essence of Bhutan. Once you cross the pass, you wind down into a warm fertile valley and meander along a gently flowing aquamarine river that leads you to the Punakha Valley. After lunch visit the Punakha Dzong, the winter residence of the Je khempo (chiefabbot). Punakha dzong is the second dzong system built in Bhutan by Shebdrung Nawang Namgyel in the year 1637. The Dzong is said to be the most beautiful of dzong in Bhutan, it is an outstanding structure with intense artwork. Then visit the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, sit majestically on a steep ridge overlooking the highway that forks to the east and south of Bhutan. Overnight Hotel base in Wangdue.
    Day 4: Wangdue - Phobjikha (B)
    Today drive to Phobjikha Valley. Phobjikha is a glacial valley on the periphery of the northwestern tip of the Black Mountain National Park at the altitude of 9,840 feet. The valley is a wide, beautiful alpine wetland valley and is a conservation area and lies on the northern boundary of the Jowo Durshing range. The hill side vegetation is mostly pine forest, interspersed with Rhododendron trees. Phobjikha valley is also one of the roosting grounds of the Black-necked cranes that migrate each year in winter from its northern habitats in Tibet and Siberia. These elegant and shy birds can be observed from early November to end of the March. RSPN and Phobjikha community are now working together to protect the habitat of endangered Black Necked Cranes. You will visit Gangtey Goenpa which is the only Nyingmapa monastery in western Bhutan and is situated on a ridge overlooking the Phobjikha Valley. According to a legend Gangtey Goenpa was founded by the grandson of Pema lingpa, Gyalse PemaThinley in 1613 and later was expanded by Tenzin Legpau Dhendup. It was renovated by present Gangtey Tulku Kunzang Rinzin Pema Namgyel and was consecrated in October 2008. Overnight - Hotel base in Phobjikha.
    Day 5: Phobjikha -Thimphu (B/L)
    Today drive to Thimphu, on the way stop at Dochula Cafeteria for Lunch then en route visit Simtokha Dzong which is built by Shabdrung Ngewang Namgyel in 1629. Then check in Hotel and you can go round the town and can buy small gift to take back home from the handicraft shop. Overnight - hotel base in Thimphu.
    Day 6: Thimphu - Departure (B)
    After breakfast in the hotel drive to Paro airport in time to catch up your on ward flight. Your escort from Bhutan Discovery will bid you farewell and soon the remote and legendary Dragon Kingdom disappears again behind its guardian mountains.
